Futurama Characters Sorted Into Their Hogwarts Houses

There aren't that many widely popular sci-fi animated TV shows. Futurama managed to fill the gap a little. Over the course of its multiple seasons, it introduced memorable characters who regularly went on adventures filled with humor, danger, and tension.

One of the main aspects that led to the show's success was the way it worked with its main characters. They didn't stay the same for all of Futurama's run, they evolved over time and so did the relationships between them. The show's heroes were all different from one another, and as such, they would also belong to different Hogwarts houses if they lived in the Harry Potter world.

10 Kif Kroker: Hufflepuff

Kif Kroker is Zapp Brannigan's assistant who's, however, much smarter than Zapp himself.

Despite his intelligence, Kif's ideal Hogwarts House would be Hufflepuff. Kif is smart but he doesn't have the same drive to succeed, to be number one, as Ravenclaws do. He's quite shy, soft-spoken, and cares deeply about his friends and Amy, all of which makes him a Hufflepuff.

9 Nibbler: Ravenclaw

Nibbler is a walking, talking example of the fact that people shouldn't judge others based on their appearance alone. Nibbler looks like an adorable alien pet, and Leela kept him as a pet for the longest time ever, convinced he was quite dumb.

But Nibbler is actually a highly intelligent being, he works as an Earth ambassador for his planet, and was tasked with protecting the Earth, which alone should prove his considerable intellect.

8 Zoidberg: Hufflepuff

Zoidberg may work as Planet Expres's doctor but he's, in fact, absolutely clueless when it comes to human biology. As a result, he does more damage than good.

Zoidberg means well, but since he understands humans and their customs so little, he comes across as naive at best, stupid at worst. His best redeeming feature is that he's loyal to his friends, most notably his oldest friend Hubert Farnsworth.

7 Hubert Farnsworth: Ravenclaw

Most often called simply 'Professor', Hubert Farnsworth takes the prize for the oldest main character on the show. He's 160 years old, and even though he's not as smart as he once used to be, his intelligence is still something many people could envy him.

Professor Farnsworth spent his entire life inventing various things, which required a lot of time, smarts, and dedication. And despite the different quality of his inventions, there's no denying he would thrive in Ravenclaw, surrounded by other clever people.

6 Mom: Slytherin

Every story needs a proper antagonist, and in Futurama, one of these antagonists is Mom. A brilliant and ruthless businesswoman who managed to make the whole world believe she's a sweet old lady, when, in fact, she's ready to eliminate whatever competition she has.

Her ultimate goal is to take over the world thanks to her army of robots, which is exactly the type of over-the-top plan people in Slytherin might appreciate.

5 Amy Wong: Gryffindor

Amy works for Planet Express, and her character is full of contradictions. On one hand, she's intelligent as she shown during her university studies.

But she also more often than not comes across as quite shallow, or even downright silly at times. It's true though that Amy sticks out for her friends, though, and is willing to fight for things and people she believes in.

4 Hermes Conrad: Ravenclaw

Hermes isn't one of the most brilliant characters in the world of Futurama. But since he works so hard and is determined and driven, he more than makes up for it.

He hates making mistakes and does whatever is in his powers to make sure it doesn't happen. Hermes can sometimes be too serious and focused on his job, but he also has a sense of humor (albeit stilted one) and knows how to relax on occasion.

3 Bender Bending Rodríguez: Slytherin

This unique robot simply prefers the name Bender. He's also one of the loose cannons of the show. Whatever Bender wants, Bender does. He's not evil by nature but he has made his fair share of questionable decisions, like the time he tried to repeatedly kill Fry as a ghost because he thought Fry didn't care about it.

Bender also likes to steal, smoke, and insult others. But he can also be a good friend. His loyalty, but also his selfishness, reveal a strong Slytherin side to him.

2 Turanga Leela: Ravenclaw

Hermes got into Ravenclaw thanks to his hard work, not natural intelligence. However, Leela is one of the smartest characters the show has. She worked hard to be taken seriously as an alien (since she didn't know she was, in fact, a mutant for most of her life). Leela mostly sticks to rules but also sometimes breaks them when she believes it's for the best.

Unlike some of her friends, she's also able to contemplate her past mistakes and learn her lesson from them.

1 Philip J. Fry: Hufflepuff

Better known simply as Fry, Philip J. Fry is the titular character - and he's not that much of a hero, at least at the beginning of the show. Fry is goofy, awkward around people, not that smart, and he doesn't really do that much with his life. That said, he has a good heart and wants his best for the people he loves.

He also can be quite funny and light up the atmosphere when things get too serious.
