Call of Duty: Warzone has temporarily removed helicopters after a glitch that made players invisible was discovered. While Warzone has seen plenty of glitches and issues in its time being online, this one proved to be so drastically bad that its developer had to make the executive decision to remove the helicopters altogether before it got too far.
While Warzone has been enjoying a resurface with the premiere of its new map, Rebirth Island, the entire launch has been loaded with glitches and bugs. Just after its launch, a glitch that makes players invisible on the ground was discovered. The only way to possibly kill someone would be to look at their status on the map, but other than that, there’s no way to visibly see them.
According to Game Rant, cheaters are able to use this glitch to their advantage by driving the helicopter into the ground while firing the vehicle’s minigun. This would result in player becoming completely invisible to everyone on the map. The glitch was so disruptive to the game that developer Raven completely removed the glitched helicopters from Warzone to get it sorted out. There’s no news as to when helicopters might be back in the game, but it’s better to keep the issue out of the game until it’s fully fixed.
While bugs have been happening recently, this invisibility glitch was the worst one to happen to players and was causing major issues with streamers and regular users of the game alike. But while it’s good that Raven is taken the time to fix the bug before it can be too exploited, it’s a shame that the attack helicopter was taken out before players could really get the chance to use it to their full advantage.
Helicopters in the game actually were removed once back in the fall due to balancing issues, as well as another time back in May, but this is the third instance that Raven has felt the need to remove them from the game. After three strikes, hopefully players won’t have to deal with these issues for much longer, as the helicopters in the previous issues returned to the map not long after they were taken out. However, with how many bugs and glitches this game seems to get, it wouldn’t be surprising if there was a fourth time in the future.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
