"Shipping" characters is common within passionate fandoms. It allows for fans to create their own narratives within the realm of the universe, as well as create their own representation (especially in the case of LGBTQ+ pairings). And Harry Potter proudly carries on that tradition. There are the classic canon pairings, such as Romione and Hinny. But there are plenty of popular non-canon pairings, such as Drarry, Deamus, and Bellamione.
One of the less talked about ships is Rarry (Ron and Harry). And it makes quite a bit of sense: it's a classic best friends to lovers scenario, where childhood friends go through a series of obstacles and experiences together while realizing their feelings for each other. And, as it stands, Harry is already technically a member of the Weasley family.
7 The Boys Who Lived And Loved
This particular meme is actually the perfect accidental meme for Rarry shippers. Harry has been known as "the boy who lived" since he was born, and Ron is known for his strong loyalty to his friends.
The way the panels are organized makes it seem like Harry and Ron are lovingly gazing at each other. This, unfortunately, leaves Hermione staring at the boys knowingly, but dejected. Ron loves both Harry and Hermione, but it seems as though he holds a particular bias and Hermione is all too aware.
6 Breaking The Fourth Wall
Imagine your favorite characters discovering the fanfiction you've written about them.... and reacting to that. To make things even more interesting, imagine the characters in question already being in romantic relationships with other people.
Now, within the context of the series, it might be hard to imagine Harry and Ron acting any other way besides horrified. But that might not be true. Hermione, as intellectual and rational as she is, would definitely find it adorable that people believe Harry and Ron should be shipped together. And as awkward as that might be, Ron's curiosity about it is very in line with his personality. As for Harry? Well... his horror may be justified.
5 An Unlikely Ship
It's amazing what you can glean from tiny details in the books. Harry and Ron spend a lot of time together throughout the series. And, particularly during summer break, Harry spends most of his time at Ron's family's house (with Hermione, of course).
But, if you're a Rarry shipper, you might start looking into just how much time they spend together...and how much of that time is alone. Ginny and Hermione might decide to help Mrs. Weasley in the kitchen which leaves Harry and Ron to their own devices. The rest is probably best left to the imagination.
4 Burgeoning Sexuality
Goblet of Fire is where the trio really begins to fully experience the extent of their teenage hormones, including their romantic interests. When the students from Durmstrang arrive, Viktor Krum makes quite the splash among the ladies and possibly the boys too.
Hermione quickly falls for Viktor because of his stoic, quiet, and charms. But it's an interesting angle to consider that Ron and Harry may have been attracted to him. They might've realized that their sexualities were not as clear-cut as they once thought and their love of Krum went beyond the Quidditch pitch.
3 Strangers To Lovers
Ron is known, throughout the series for his profound loyalty and willingness to put his safety on the line to protect those he cares about. And he makes this clear upon his character's introduction when he shares his food with Harry, a boy he's never met.
As innocent as this may seem, Rarry shippers can easily glean that this moment put the pair on the path to a romantic relationship. Best friends to lovers is one of the most common tropes in romance, and this moment foreshadows just how close the two get.
2 Am I....?
This meme could mean many things for Rarry shippers. Since the person in question looks so much like both Ron and Harry, one could assume that this is one of their children who happened to inherit traits from both sides. How the process in question occurred is best left up to the imagination.
There's also the question of the last name. If Harry and Ron, in this scenario, were married, who got who's last name? Would Ron take Harry's name or would Harry take Ron's name? Just a little food for thought.
1 The Wrong One?
This meme is interesting because it is fully up to interpretation. Harry and Hermione are staring into a mirror and seeing the truth looking back at them. In this scenario, apparently, the pair's burgeoning feelings seem to be directed towards the wrong person. But who could it be?
Rarry shippers could easily see this as Harry realizing that he will be with Ron in the end, so his feelings for an unnamed person won't last. Any number of ship combinations can be applied here.
