Some stellar embroidery of Ellie’s tattoo in The Last of Us Part 2 has caught the attention of Naughty Dog, and they just had to share it with the world. TLOU2 released last June and quickly became on of the most controversial games released recently. The gaming community has been torn on the game even since before its release, due to a huge story leak that left many people condemning the game before playing it.
However, critics have unanimously praised The Last of Us 2 for its bold, compelling, and inspired narrative, as well as its technical achievements. Furthermore, with all of the backlash the game has received from the community, just as many gamers have come to adore it. Talented programmers continue to mod the game nearly a year after its release, including a recent mod that includes Jesse as a playable character.
Although, those without programming skills use their equally impressive artistic skills to show their love for the game. On Friday, Naughty Dog tweeted a picture of embroidery that on its own is magnificent. What’s more incredible is that it’s a near-perfect recreation of one of Ellie’s tattoos from The Last of Us 2. The work was done by a fan who goes by windsofbeleriand. It was submitted through Naughty Dog’s Tumblr page.
Fans of The Last of Us have shown their support time and time again. Sony and Naughty Dog are looking to expand that fandom. A lot of buzz has been surrounding the game as it begins the process of becoming a TV show on HBO. While information is still slowly being released, Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal have already made headlines as the new faces of Ellie and Joel. Both actors are Game of Thrones alumni, and Pascal also has experience with Netflix’s Narcos. Filming for the show is set to begin this summer in Canada.
Hopefully, this will result in even more impressive creations by fans of the franchise. Naughty Dog has developed a reputation for their games. Their detail in storytelling, environments, character design, and world design are all heavily noted by the gaming community. They’ve made The Last of Us a phenomenon in the gaming industry. The series has broken sales records, has received dozens upon dozens of awards and nominations over the years, and the original Last of Us has a PS5 remake in the works. There’s no doubt Naughty Dog created something special, and The Last of Us Part II is far from the end of their road with the franchise.
