Rob Westergaard joined Below Deck Mediterranean season 5 as a deckhand, and he has had quite a busy life ever since. When he walked on to The Wellington megayacht in Spain, Rob was excited to get to work with his exterior team. He worked on deck alongside Alex Radcliffe, Pete Hunziker, and bosun Malia White. While there were times when Maila would get on Rob's case for not pulling enough weight, they had a great working relationship overall.
During Rob Westergaard's time on the Bravo series, he fell for third stew Jessica More. The pair had a solid relationship during the beginning of the season, but it started to go downhill after Hannah Ferrier was fired as the chief stew. Jess started to notice red flags in their relationship, such as Rob texting his ex-girlfriend back home. While they had quite a tumultuous relationship throughout the rest of the season, they ended up taking their trip to Bali together. However, Rob and Jess did not last long as they broke up sooner after their getaway was over.
So what is Rob up to now? Since filming Below Deck Mediterranean, Rob got right back to working on yachts, but he's now working in a different department. On Rob's Instagram, he shared a photo of himself working in the engineering department alongside a fellow crew member. In his caption, the 31-year-old mentioned he began "learning the rope" of engineering and is clearly excited to be expanding his knowledge of the yacht industry. Rob even appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen along with fellow crew member Aesha Scott, where he spoke about working in this new department.
"I'm in the engineering department of a vessel called Jamaica Bay. Big 60-meter vessel," he said. "The yard period, there's a lot going on, so I'm pretty occupied right now, so I'm happy." (via BravoTV). Other than the few social media posts, Rob has remained low-key since his appearance on Below Deck Med. However, the former model does update his Instagram followers once in a while through his IG Stories. From the few Stories that he has posted to his highlight reel, Rob was in Florida earlier this year. However, he did not specify if he was there for work or not. Rob's last Instagram post to his grid was from November 2020 (posted above), and it shows him in Los Angeles alongside an adorable dog. He tagged Alex from his season, so it is possible that the dog is his.
Since leaving the yacht two summers ago on Below Deck Med, Rob has been busy continuing his work in yachting. However, he has moved up from the exterior department and is learning the ropes of engineering on a boat. As for his relationship with Jess, it seems that the ship may have sailed.
