Kris Jenner’s Crisis Management for Safely Cleaning Brand Explained

Kris Jenner has been busy doing behind-the-scenes damage control due to a recent Twitter scandal involving one of her business partners. One of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star's businesses was put in jeopardy due to Chrissy Teigen's old abusive tweets aimed at a teenager. With the family matriarch launching her Safely cleaning brand with Teigen, it forced Kris to do some serious crisis management to save the new company.

Earlier this year Kris and Teigen started to tease their new joint business venture of cleaning products and home goods. Safely officially launched in May, with Kris and Teigen both serving as celebrity faces who helped to heavily market the product. A number of influencers began to promote their personalized gift bags on social media. Even Kylie Jenner's former BFF Jordyn Woods was sent some products from Kris that she shared on her Instagram Story. But just as the brand was heating up with sales and support, Teigen was tossed into the canceled pile after a number of her old resurfaced tweets came to light.

Teigen has lost a number of deals with numerous major retailers removing her product line from their platforms after the re-emergence of abusive tweets she sent in 2011, Daily Mail reports. At the time, Teigen had sent alarming messages to a then 16-year-old Courtney Stodden urging them to take their own life. After Stodden came forward with the grim details 10 years later, Teigen fell victim to the new wave of cancel culture. But at the same time, Kris had to move swiftly in repairing the Safely brand's image after sales reportedly tanked amid the scandal. The momager "has been in crisis mode for weeks with Chrissy's scandal," a source told The Sun.

Kris and Teigen founded the company together and were enjoying their business relationship. But being the businesswoman she is, Kris knew she had to distance herself to save the company. Teigen has since been removed from all marketing for the company. According to The Sun"She likes Chrissy but she's a numbers girl first and their sales tanked after all of Chrissy's tweets came out," the insider explained. "It's the worst-case scenario for them, they just launched their cleaning brand days before the scandal." This is the latest setback for Teigen after removing herself from Netflix's Never Have I Ever and having her Cravings cookware brand blacklisted by big name retailers including Macy's, Target, and Bloomingdale's.

Teigen has been silent on social media since the tweets were revealed. She did issue out an apology to Stodden. But with it coming 10 years too late, she only dug herself into a deeper grave. Kris will always put her business first. Surely Teigen understands the position she has put Kris in. Now on to find a new brand ambassador. Maybe the KUWTK star will just use her kids? They're famous enough to help out.
