America’s Got Talent season 16 is now officially underway, and here’s how and when the fans can keep up with this current season. Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell have returned to the judging panel, with Terry Crews once again serving as the host. The series is celebrating its Sweet 16 cycle, and the judges are ready to award a million dollars to a new act.
Though we are only a few episodes into AGT season 16, the viewers have already gotten a few favorites. For example, 10-year-old singer Peter Rosalita has already passed over 5 million views on YouTube with his cover of “All by Myself.” In addition, a singing group called Korean Soul, comedians Gerald and Hunter Kelly, and dancer Keith Apicary have auditions that have all gotten over a million views on YouTube as well.
The regular schedule for America’s Got Talent season 16 is Tuesday nights at 8pm ET on NBC. For those who are unable to watch the live episodes on TV, they are available for fans to watch the next day on NBC.com, as well as on streaming services such as Hulu and Peacock. AGT has six to seven audition episodes before the judge cuts, where each act auditions once again and the judges must narrow down to the contestants who can make it to the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. From there on out, the live shows begin in August. When the live tapings start off, the season will air for two hours on Tuesdays, with a one-hour results episode airing on Wednesdays.
Howie has already said that AGT season 16 has been more fun than he’s ever had on the show, and if it continues the way previous episodes have been, this season will certainly be making history. Like other seasons, AGT’s Sweet 16 will likely feature a Best of Auditions episode before it gets to the live shows. The series will have a round of quarterfinals and semifinals before the finals, and before ultimately crowning the winner of America's Got Talent.
So far, the Golden Buzzer - which sends auditioners straight to the Dolby Theater - has been awarded to three acts. Howie hit the Golden Buzzer for Northwell Health Nurse Choir, a singing group from New York. In turn, a high-flying martial arts group called The Taekwondo Demonstration Team won their spot from Terry, and Simon gave his Golden Buzzer out to Nightbirde, who sang an original tune. With Sofia and Heidi left, you may think that there are only two Golden Buzzers left, but by the looks of the original promo, the host and all four judges granted another act with the gift of going straight to the live shows.
Fans can watch full episodes of America's Got Talent on NBC’s website, though new episodes require signing in with your cable TV provider. The show can also be watched live via live TV services from streaming platforms like Fubo TV and YouTube TV, to name a few. On the other hand, highlights of each episode are posted to the official YouTube channel for AGT.
