The battle-royale phenomenon Apex Legends recently added in a completely new way to play the game when Arenas Mode was added in May of this year. This new 3v3 mode consists of multiple single-life elimination-based rounds that pit 6 players against each other rather than the regular 60. This gameplay switch up creates a whole new dynamic in terms of team composition and ability usage. Team strategy is completely different in Arenas, and some characters are more suited for the isolated mode than others.
In the original battle royale mode, focusing too much on one squad and expending all resource often would lead to a third-party squad swooping in for an easy wipe on a wounded team. In Apex Legends' new Arenas update, this is not a problem as one fight to the death will end the round and reset everything. Using up every last grenade and ability no longer has much of a consequence. This different way of playing will allow unique team compositions and characters to shine - like Lifeline, who plays a very important and almost essential role in a squad when playing Arenas.
Every character in Apex Legends has passive abilities that go into effect for the character without user input. Lifeline's passive abilities are what make her so dominant in Arenas Mode. Lifeline is a support character and her abilities are set up to help her teammates. One of her passive abilities, Combat Revive, allows Lifeline to revive multiple team members at once while still being about to move around and fight. This is important in the battle royale, but arguably more essential to an Arenas game where revives can greatly impact the result of a round. Being able to revive a teammate while standing guard defending them is a strategy that only Lifeline can use.
Lifeline has another passive ability that allows for the extra compartment in blue supply bins to be opened. This is extremely helpful in Arenas Mode where healing supplies play an important role and are either bought or looted in the designated bins on each map. This passive boost can allow for a squad to be even more prepared thanks to the helpful medic. Also in terms of healing preparation, Lifeline's medic drone can come in handy for any squad looking to heal up quickly and get back in the fight. When it comes to being a helpful addition to a team, Lifeline has the perfect abilities in Apex Legends.
While other characters' abilities center around disrupting or damaging enemy squads, Lifeline's abilities are all about making sure the team is prepared and supported. In an isolated 3v3 fight, being able to outlast and often times out-heal an opponent is crucial. Apex Legends started off as an exciting battle royale, but Arenas Mode has been a great new way to enjoy the game. There will be many new strategies and metas in Arenas, but Lifeline's abilities should make her an essential squad pick.
