Shiny Palkia will soon be making its debut in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can find and capture this legendary spatial Pokemon. Pokemon Go recently hosted its Go Fest event where players from around the world were able to spend 2 days capturing Pokemon from around the globe. Each hour of Go Fest provided players with a Global Challenge to complete. Since the Pokemon Go community was able to complete all 24 challenges, Niantic is rewarding these hard-working players with some additional content. These Ultra Unlock events provide players with exclusive regional Pokemon and the Shiny forms of Pokemon like Dialga, Palkia, Heracross, and more. Shiny Palkia will soon be joining the roster of the game and this guide will show players how they can find and capture it.
It's surprising to see that Niantic didn't wait until the release of Pokemon Brillant Diamond and Shining Pearl to introduce the Shiny forms of the legendary Pokemon of those games. In the case of Palkia, its Shiny form will begin to appear starting on August 6th. This is when the Ultra Unlock Part 2: Space event begins. This event comes along with other raid encounters like Shellos, Espurr, Unown U, and more. Here's how players can get their own Shiny Palkia.
Shiny Palkia will begin to appear in 5-star raid battles on August 6th. This event will conclude on August 17th but Palkia will remain Shiny if it returns during a future event. In this case, players will want to team up with a group of at least 5 other players to make this battle easier on them. Any less will make it possible for Palkia to escape. Here are some valuable Pokemon for players to bring along to counter Palkia.
- Rayquaza: Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Dialga: Dragon Breath and Draco Meteor
- Salamence: Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Zekrom: Dragon Breath and Outrage
- Haxorus: Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw
- Dragonite: Dragon Tail and Outrage
Overall, players should aim to bring along a Dragon-type Pokemon to make this battle a bit easier. Its Shiny form will make an appearance during the capturing phase. If it's not Shiny, players will need to head to another raid and try again. There is no guarantee that Palkia will appear Shiny but if players are lucky enough, they can add it to their growing legendary Pokemon collection.
Pokemon Go is available now on iOS and Android.
