A royal family animated satire titled The Prince is coming to HBO Max, and the streamer has now released a trailer for the series. The drama from the royal family has been very topical ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their royal duties. The drama resurged after Meghan and Harry did an interview with Oprah accusing the royal family of racism and ignoring her outcries over mental health struggles. Since then, all royal family members have been under increased scrutiny.
HBO Max released the trailer for The Prince just ahead of its debut. Based on the video, the series will focus on Prince William and Kate Middleton's son Prince George. However, the trailer also indicates The Prince will take aim at all of the royal family members. The series even features Meghan and Harry after their move to LA. Focusing on Prince George is a safe move since he's too young to be involved in the family drama or have any dirt on him. However, viewers can likely expect there to be some commentary on the current situation. Check out the trailer for The Prince below:
The Prince trailer bears a striking resemblance to Family Guy. Not only is the animation style similar, but the way in which Prince George carries himself evokes comparison to Stewie Griffin. Family Guy has made it far, so drawing inspiration from it may be a recipe for success for The Prince. Viewers can now see for themselves as the series just dropped on HBO Max July 29.
As per The Prince's official HBO Max description, "In this biting animated satire, seven-year-old Prince George (Gary Janetti) – youngest heir to the British throne – spills all the royal "tea" on Buckingham Palace’s residents and staff."
