Wolverine and Emma Frost once became the singular hero, Diamond Patch. When Gamora used the Infinity Stones to rebalance the Soul Stone, she created a new reality where the universe folded in on itself, merging Marvel characters. Among the various combined heroes in the new Warp World was a Wolverine-Frost hybrid who possessed diamond claws and a telepathic ability activated after stabbing people with them.
Marvel's Infinity Wars event featured Gamora killing Thanos and using the Infinity Stones for herself as Requiem. In the series, Gamora created Warp World, a pocket dimension inside the Soul Gem where heroes merged to form warped versions. Among the combinations included Thor and Iron Man as Iron Hammer, Captain America and Doctor Strange as Soldier Supreme, X-23 and Scarlet Witch as Weapon Hex, Moon Knight and Spider-Man as Arachknight, and Ghost Rider and Black Panther as Ghost Panther. Perhaps the most interesting combo hero was the Wolverine and Emma Frost combination referred to as Diamond Patch, who combined the powerful mutant into even more of a powerhouse.
In Infinity Wars by Gerry Duggan, Mike Deodato Jr., Frank Martin, and VC's Cory Petit, Loki is knocked into the new reality and seeks out help to stop Gamora. His quest takes him to the X-Mansion, where he meets the hero he refers to as Diamond Patch. When Loki says he needs his help, Diamond Patch lightly stabs him with his claw to read his mind and confirms he's telling the truth. Devondra - the monster who's trying to eat souls in the Soul World - attacks the pair leading Diamond Patch reads its mind after impaling it and realizes its hunger is no laughing matter.
Things only get crazier, as Diamond Patch reveals he stabbed a Watcher and learned he became the Phoenix Force in the future. Diamond Patch says he'll stab a Phoenix Force user in the future to send a message to the future Wolverine, leading the Phoenix-powered hero to show up in the present day. Wolverine uses the Phoenix Force to split his past self with Emma Frost, recreating the two separate heroes.
In a small amount of time, Diamond Patch proved he's one of the most powerful versions of Wolverine ever - as his diamond claws gave him telepathy to go with his healing factor and powers. With both Emma Frost and Wolverine's best abilities, Diamond Claw would be one of the most powerful mutants ever, whose mix of violence and telepathy would be a nearly unstoppable combination. It would be fun to see Diamond Patch show up in future Marvel stories, so the Wolverine/Emma Frost hybrid could truly flex his powers.
