Zac Efron broke his grandfather out of a nursing home in a fun, Mission: Impossible-style video that had a sweet and unexpected twist at the end. Mission Impossible is a film series that follows the Impossible Missions Force team under the leadership of Ethan Hunt. Hunt's objective in the films is to stop enemy forces and is the lead character in the film series.
Efron ditched his Disney-branded past to become one of the most bankable stars of his generation of actors. He got his start in the trio of High School Musical films, which put him on the map as a teenage heartthrob but not as a movie star. Studios continued to pigeonhole the actor in Hairspray and 17 Again, The Lucky One, and That Awkward Moment. He continued to coast through these roles and others in raunchy R-rated comedies, including Neighbors, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, and Dirty Grandpa, until landing a film that showcased Efron's true chops as an actor. He starred in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile for Netflix, where he played serial killer Ted Bundy.
Efron employed some serious action film moves in the Instagram upload as the film's iconic theme song played in the background. In the clip, Efron tells his off-camera brother, "we're going to bust Grandpa out of here," as he masked up and entered into the nursing home where his grandfather resides. The actor then slithered across the floor, did a front roll, and lost his hat down a corridor. Efron steals a security tag from a nurse and opens the restricted area where he found his grandfather seated in a wheelchair. Efron's grandpa drinks from a bottle of soda until they reach a home where they watch the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship. At the end of the clip, Efron and his brother Dylan laugh as the actor calls his grandfather the better actor in the family.
