American Horror Story Actor Wants To Return As The Antichrist

American Horror Stories actor Cody Fern wants to return as American Horror Story: Apocalypse Antichrist Michael. Fern portrays Stan Vogel, the Australian ranger from Kern Canyon's National Park, in episode 6 of American Horror Stories season 1, entitled "Feral." Having confirmed American Horror Stories' cast and characters back in July, the series has seen multiple actors from American Horror Story return, yet as completely new characters.

Fern is no stranger to the creations of Ryan Murphy. Having appeared in both seasons 8 and 9 of American Horror Story, as well as American Crime Story, Fern has developed a good working relationship with the series creator. Although not set to star in the upcoming tenth season, entitled Double Feature, Fern's characters have left a notable impact on the series. His choices as an actor have also given great diversity to his characters.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Fern expressed his desire to return to his most notable character, the American Horror Story season 8 antagonist Michael Langdon, the Antichrist. As Murphy's on screen universe continues to expand with American Sports Story and American Love Story now in development, it may not be too long before Fern is called into action again. Fern claims he would immediately jump back to the role if asked by the series creator Murphy. Fern stated,

"If the Coven witches return without Michael, I feel like there would be a riot. I am sure I've been on the record saying that before, but if (Murphy) ever calls and asks me if I want to play Michael Langdon again, the answer is, 'Absolutely, yes.' I love playing Michael."

Having begun with a slow start, the character of Michael gave the eighth season the much needed catalyst to ramp up the excitement and intrigue of the end of the world. The slow burn of the character's rise to power was captivating, but unfortunately, the character was then killed off after the Supreme, Mallory portrayed by Billie Lourd, goes back in time to prevent his powers from fully manifesting. Although this may seem like an end, season 8 also explored characters going to hell to bring people back to the world of the living, such as Michael bringing back Emma Roberts' Madison Montgomery. As season 8 ends with the introduction of a new Antichrist, the possibility of a return of Michael Langdon should not be written off anytime soon.

At this time, there is currently no word as to whether or not Murphy would want to bring Fern's character back. With the release of American Horror Story season 10 trailer, it is worth noting that Fern is not set to return. With his work on American Horror Stories however, it's clear that Murphy is more than willing to continue using him, as long as the role is right.
