Malia White, the bosun featured in this season of Below Deck Med, is opening up about her fight with second stew Lexi and what hurt her the most. Malia has now appeared in three seasons of the popular Bravo show. She started as a green deck hand and made her way up the ranks and is now working as the bosun. She is the first female bosun in the franchise's history and is on her way to becoming a captain someday. Fans of the show have seen her journey to becoming a bosun from watching her learn how to throw lines and drop anchor back in season 2 to running the exterior like the boss she is.
Fans also saw Malia get into some drama with chief stew Hannah Ferrier. They didn't get along with each other very well during season 2 but decided to put their differences behind them when they had to work together again for season 5. Things were going well between the two, until Malia reported to Captain Sandy that Hannah had drugs on board, leading to Hannah getting fired. Fans were not happy with her at the time, but she seems to have gotten more sympathy this season. During a recent episode, Malia got into an argument with second stew Lexi Wilson. Things got very heated between the two, as well as between Lexi and the rest of the crew. Fans were calling for Lexi to be fired from the boat because of her actions.
Malia recently opened up about what hurt her the most during her fight with Lexi this season. As reported by Reality Blurb, Malia was most hurt by the accusation from Lexi that she is a fake and non-genuine person. She said it hurt her because she felt as if she was being told she isn't a real person and that Lexi was painting her out to be this evil person that she isn't. Malia further explained that she felt Lexi had seen previous episodes of Below Deck in which she was featured and formed an opinion on her based on what she watched. She said that made things a little hard to begin with, as did Lexi's burn list that Malia found early on in the charter season.
Malia also claimed that a lot of what Lexi said during their argument by the hot tub had to be edited out because they broke the fourth wall. According to Malia, Lexi would continuously mention things that went on in previous seasons of the show. These comments had to be edited out, but Malia claimed it was clear based on what she was saying that she had watched the show before and had already made a judgment on Malia. Malia also discussed her sexuality in this statement, revealing she was with guys and girls when in college. Her sexuality became a topic of discussion when Captain Sandy recorded a Cameo video for a fan, in which she claimed Malia was secretly gay, thus causing drama between her and Malia. In Malia's eyes, it doesn't matter what your sexuality is, and everyone should just do what they want.
Lexi has caused a lot of drama on the boat this season, and the question on everyone's mind so far is whether or not she is going to get fired. Crew members have been fired for a lot less than what Lexi has done, so it isn't too far out of the realm of possibility. Is it only a matter of time until she has another blow-up against the entire crew again? Only time will tell how and when Lexi's Below Deck Med journey will end.
Below Deck Med airs Mondays at 9pm on Bravo.
