The Challenge: Cara Maria Sorbello Addresses Retirement Rumors

Cara Maria Sorbello from The Challenge addresses rumors about her retirement. The reality star has three wins under her belt. Cara joined the competition in 2010 on The Challenge: Fresh Meat II. Fans criticized Cara for the decisions she made on War of the Worlds 2, which caused her to take a break from the show back in December 2019. Cara also found herself in several disagreements with other cast members, so fans were not shocked about her taking a break. A social media post has Cara addressing retirement rumors from the show once again. Keep reading to find out what Cara had to say.

The 35-year-old reality star made her debut in 2010. Up until 2019, Cara competed in at least one season of The Challenge per year. She was open about her horse, Garnett, being the motivation behind her wanting to win. The thoroughbred horse had a leg with cellulitis that Cara said took a lot of money to care for. Up until now, the 5-foot 5-inch reality star has 19 eliminations consisting of 13 wins and 6 losses. Cara’s time on the show resulted in her winning over $600,000. The reality star also built a following of nearly 500,000 fans on social media. With over 1,700 posts, fans can stay up to date on all of Cara’s activities. The MTV reality star even shares her workout sessions in the gym pretty often.

Of course, fans did not miss Cara’s recent social media posts that hinted at her retirement from The Challenge. Fortunately, Cara addressed the retirement rumors with E! News. Spoiler alert! Cara fans have no reason to worry about the reality star retiring anytime soon. So what exactly happened to make fans worry about the reality star retiring in the first place? Cara posted a picture of her co-star Kam Williams to her Instagram Story with the caption, “Here she is. The only acceptable ‘new face' of The Challenge.” Cara continued, “I didn't get an official retirement goodbye or a chance to pass the crown. But…she didn't need it passed. She walked in with it. Long live the queen. @IAmKamiam_ Keep doing amazing things. I will always root for you.

Cara found it necessary to walk down memory lane with her Instagram Story posts. She reminded fans of her thoroughbred horse, Garnett, saying, In the end, I was able to pay off my student loans, get Lasik to fix my eyes, buy my first home, get a new and safe car to battle Montana winter roads, and of course…care for Garnett.” Fans did not hear the last of Cara’s sentiment. She also wrote, “I am thankful. Best of luck to everyone starting their journeys. Goodbye.” A diary entry from 2009 just before Cara joined the show was the reason for Cara’s reminiscing. Cara stated that she was not retiring, adding, The post was sparked from visiting home and reading old diaries from the beginning of my Challenge journey. I was reminiscing and my heart was heavy over the loss of my Garnett. She was a huge part of keeping my spirit alive during my Challenge career on and off the field.

Cara expressed years ago that Garnett was the number one reason she wanted to win the show. Cara shared that the loss of Garnett impacted her heavily. Naturally, her memory of the thoroughbred is linked to her memories on the show. Cara made it known that she is not retiring from The Challenge, and her presence on the show will continue to honor Garnett as the thoroughbred’s impact on Cara’s participation on the show lives on.

The Challenge premieres August 11 at 8pm on MTV.
