Hawkeye Gets An Official Christmas Card Featuring Clint & Kate Bishop

The official Hawkeye Instagram account shared a Christmas card featuring Clint Barton and Kate Bishop inspired by the third episode of the series. The series stars Jeremy Renner, who reprises the role of Avenger Clint Barton, as he teaches Hailee Steinfeld's young archer Kate Bishop how to be a hero. Hawkeye episode 3, "Echoes," aired on December 1.

Hawkeye is a series heavily invested in the season that it is set in, from sets being dressed with snow, Christmas trees, and twinkling lights, to Clint planning out the holidays with his family. Despite setback after setback from his hero career keeping Clint from going home to join in with gingerbread houses and Christmas movie marathons, the hero is still determined to get home to spend time with his family before Christmas day, with the hero's conflict being a key part of his arc. Though it started as a holdover from Matt Fraction's original comics that the series pulls inspiration from, Hawkeye seems inseparable from the holiday season, as such, Marvel has leaned heavily into holiday traditions when promoting the series.

Posted on the official Hawkeye Instagram account, the seasonal card reads "'Tis the Season To Be Jolly," with holly and arrows decorating the text in the banner. Despite the cheerful message, Clint and Kate seem less enthusiastic, with the artwork of the two heroes taking inspiration from the third episode. Both Clint and Kate's hands are tied while they sit on the children's rides from the Tracksuit Mafia's abandoned toy store hideout. The pair is placed before a snowy forest background. With the show's seasonal ties, Marvel head Kevin Feige hopes that Hawkeye will be a Christmas classic that will be revisited long after the show finishes airing. In a recent interview, Feige compared Hawkeye to Iron Man 3, in which while the latter had some Christmas elements, Feige feels many don't consider it a Christmas story. In comparison, Feige called Hawkeye unabashedly a Christmas movie, with the producer enjoying how the series airs between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

With Hawkeye's Christmastime story and setting, creating cards inspired by the show is a perfect way to market the series. With this recently released card being inspired directly from episode 3, Marvel could release cards inspired by each episode as they air up until Hawkeye's finale on December 22, helping further tie the series into the holiday season. For now, fans can take delight in this recently released holiday-inspired artwork.
