A big part of the Pikmin Bloom experience is exploring the local surroundings and growing a Pikmin army along the way. In Pikmin Bloom, players are rewarded for the number of steps they travel. The game can also be set to be played passively, meaning players can earn rewards even when they aren't playing the game directly. A big part of the game is going on Pikmin Bloom Expeditions and securing treasure that Pikmin find while exploring. In order to earn more of these, players should focus on growing as many Pikmin as possible.
The more Pikmin the player has, the better. In the Pikmin series, the objective is to use the Pikmin's collective strength to move ship parts back to their proper location. Pikmin Bloom's co-op challenge mushrooms work in a similar way, as Pikmin who work together get jobs done faster. Although, Pikmin eventually gets tired, and players will need to wait in order to send them on more Expeditions. The best thing to do would be to grow as many Pikmin as possible and alternate between them to maximize rewards.
All Pikmin grow from the same method, the more steps the player takes, the more Pikmin will grow. In the beginning, players will begin with Pikmin sprouts that grow within only 1000 steps. As players unlock more Pikmin types like Purple, Pink, and White, they will require more steps in order to be born. Fortunately, there is a way for players to decrease the total steps required to grow more Pikmin.
Players should be planting flowers whenever they go on long walks in Pikmin Bloom. Planting flowers is a mechanic in the game that allows players to change the world around them. By feeding their Pikmin nectar, players are able to harvest flowers from their Pikmin. From the main menu, players are able to hit the Flower icon on the bottom right of the screen. Players can start to plant these flowers when they go on walks. This mechanic is even being used for its own Pikmin Bloom Community Day in November. If players have Pikmin planted while flowers are active, there will be a 10% increase in growth speed.
Alternatively, players can use the Single-Use Slot item to grow more Pikmin. Players are rewarded with one of these every time they level up and earn a new Pikmin sprout. Players should use these only on Pikmin that requires at least 3000 steps to be born. Make sure to start planting flowers right before every walk to grow more Pikmin.
Pikmin Bloom is available now on iOS and Android.
