Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has fans in an uproar. She has shown her true colors after verbally attacking a fan on Instagram.
Many Bravo viewers were huge fans of Erika Jayne’s no-nonsense attitude, as it made her the perfect modern-day housewife. Erika Jayne is powerful, gorgeous, smart, and takes pride in who she is, making her an immediate fan0favorite. This last season showed her standing up to Denise Richards’ husband as he tried to silence the other women. Plus, it goes without saying that fans have always loved her fashion sense as well. However, she may have turned a few fans off after a recent interaction on Instagram.
Erika Jayne has shown fans she is no gold digger and is quite content to work for her own money. But recently, fans have started to call her out on her poor attitude towards her admirers. It all came to a head-on October 19 via her Instagram. Erika was called out after she posted a meme originally created by @brandsbybravo that showed three housewives all wearing the same pink suit dress. When the original creator pointed out that all she would like is some credit, Erika lost it on her. Instead of answering the account's polite request for credit for the meme, Erika took the time to belittle a fan which left a bad taste in most everyone’s mouth. The singer replied, “The way to get more 'credit' for your 'ideas' is to come up with your own and stop leaving comments on my page about how you feel wronged. These images do not belong to you. Now go make some interesting sh*t that I can promote.” Check out the post that prompted the debate below:
Many were on the side of the creator, who felt the concept had been flat-out stolen. The idea of a Bravo star talking to a fan like that was appalling, especially since online memes and conversations are often what keeps the housewives relevant. Most of the housewives would have never been a household name if not for the franchise, which comes hand-in-hand with fans. Many fans banded together to express their idea that Erika should have shown courtesy and acknowledged the creator, instead of acting like she should be put on a pedestal.
This reaction proved to be very disappointing in the eyes of viewers who, for the most part, always embraced Erika. There have been rumors from other Bravo stars and fans that she was never the nicest housewifem and it is sad to say those tales may have turned out to be true. Hopefully, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star will learn a valuable lesson: You do not bite the hand that feeds you.
